The Reiki Principles of Mikao Usui
"Just for Today" - The importance of "today" is applicable for all five principles. How you live today determines whether or not you will complete the necessary learning. "Today" is a collection of moments. This teaches us to fully live each and every moment and this whole day.
1. "Do Not Get Angry" Recover the balance of mind and emotion with Reiki. Live a quiet and peaceful life. Anger hurts others and yourself. It is also important to control all kinds of emotions not just anger. Selfish people tend to get easily emotional and drive themselves to destruction with anger, holding grudges, and hatred. Emotions are also the main causes of karma.
2. "Do Not Worry" Do not have unnecessary worries and fear. Do our best today and let the Universe take care of the rest, keeping the peace of your mind. To believe in the Universe and to be one with the Universe is the key to being free from fear.
3. "Be Thankful" You naturally become thankful if you receive the benefit of Reiki and familiarize yourself with Reiki every day. People do not fail to feel thankful when they realize they are also given the gift of living by Nature and the people around them. When people forget to be happy and thankful out of selfish desire, they lose the right mind needed to be in a state of gratitude and thankfulness for all things.
4. "Work Hard" Reiki ho (Gendai) shows how to utilize Reiki in every day life and work. A lazy mind is bad for yourself and for society. People grow through learning - this is accomplished through their work, every day life, and interactions with one another. How one chooses to "work" is a personal choice, but it is an important one as we are all here on Earth to learn through a wide variety of experiences.
5. "Be Kind to Others" A sense of Oneness can be developed naturally through Reiki healing (practice of love). Healthy society can only be established through the cooperation of a large number of people. On the "universal plane" there is no distinction between self and others; all is the existence of the same "soul" (consciousness). "Be kind to others" is therefore also synonymous to "Be kind to yourself."
